4 Things Which Tell You You're Healthy

A personal training client of mine recently got on the scales and was disappointed by what she saw. She was feeling positive and thought everything was going well until she got on the scales and had not lost a single pound.Of course she then went from feeling positive, to the complete opposite, disappointed, gutted and a bit angry that she hadn’t been “rewarded” for her last week or so’s efforts. We have all been there. It feels like its not fair.
Sometimes when you are doing all this weight loss stuff, you are not really sure how it is actually going. So naturally, everyone and their dog, measures the “success” of their exercise and diet regime by one single thing – weight loss on the scales. It's just how everyone does it. Some are slaves to the scales weighing every day more or less.
You may KNOW that your training is going well and you know you are eating well, but you still like to check, by jumping on the scales.
Weight loss is AN indicator of your progress – 100%.
But, weight loss is NOT THE ONLY indicator, and it is definitely not always the BEST one either.
Today I’m gonna teach you a new way of looking at things and to NOT be a slave to the scales

Use KEY Performance Indicators or KPIs as they are known - to gauge your progress. A KPI, for those who don’t know, is what it says on the tin, a KEY INDICATOR of PERFORMANCE. A KPI is something which indicates other areas MUST be performing well, just by looking at this one INDICATOR. But you hopefully catch my drift, KPIs are there to give you a “snap shot” of how things are going – well, okay or not so well.
The 4 Most important KPIs for assessing health are in my opinion:

  1. General health and frequency of illness - How many times have you been ill in the last 6-12 months? The less you've been ill the healthier you are.
  2. Vitality and day to day energy - How are your energy levels during the day? (without coffee!)High energy and productivity suggests good health.
  3. Libido/Sex Drive – How often do you get a morning erection? Get horny, think about or have sex?
  4. Sleep – How long and what sort of quality sleep do you get? 7-8 hours is the optimal level.
If you have ALL FOUR of the above KPIs in place, generally you are in good condition and your efforts with diet and exercise will be well rewarded. Your body is IN BALANCE. Very few people, including me, have all FOUR Of these KPIs going well, all of the time.
If they are in place and you are still not losing weight be patient for 6-12 months and hopefully the positive changes will kick in eventually.
The KPIs I have shared today are THE most important thing whether you are a normal person wanting to have a smaller bum or an olympic athlete - taking on the world.
Our whole “weight loss” approach should be focused on being HEALTHY, having more energy and better sleep.
Other KPI’s can be personal to you like: What waist/dress size you are? How strong you are? How fast you can run/walk/cycle a 5k? and so on The main four above are just the most important in my experience thus far.
Thanks for reading and good luck,

Living in big cities with the crowd, traffic, pollutions, and never ending work can make you sick. That is the reason why Cosmopolitan Women Healthy Lifestyle is necessary for all urban women. If it is not you who maintain your health, who will? Perhaps you are a very wealthy woman that you can pay the most expensive medical treatment, but you must admit that no one wishes to suffer from illness. Instead of feeling sick, it will be better if you prevent it by having a healthy lifestyle.

Before we talk about Cosmopolitan Women Healthy Lifestyle, it will be better if we discuss why urban women can easily get sick. The first cause is the pollutions that carry toxic materials. You may not notice the effect instantly but when the toxic materials enter your body and they are accumulated over a long time, it will lead to a severe disease. The second reason is the busy days that make many people choose fast food and processed food since they do not have time to cook healthy food. Unhealthy foods only make you feel full without providing enough nutrition that your body needs. The busy days could also cause stress and less sleep. This will create hormonal imbalance, and the organs cannot work well. The cause of stress may vary. Stress which is caused by daily traffic, stress at work, stress due to a personal matter, and other kinds of stress that many urban women experience.
To have a healthy life, you need to avoid the causes of an unhealthy body. You can start by keeping your body and your environment clean. Clean lifestyle is the first element of Cosmopolitan Women Healthy Lifestyle. Then, you need to eat healthy food because your health comes from healthy food. Homemade foods cooked from fresh ingredients are the best. Combine various foods from starchy foods, vegetables, healthy fats, fruits, nuts, and more so you can get enough nutrition every day. Then, the other important thing is to avoid stress because bad things can happen from stress. Try to solve your problem as soon as possible, take enough rest and sleep.

Of course, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is never easy especially when you have so many things to do every day. Nevertheless, it is for your own good and you need to start it now if you want to have a healthy life until you grow old. If it’s so hard to change your life dramatically, you can start to have Cosmopolitan Women Healthy Lifestyle slowly from small things and continue to change more until you really have the healthy lifestyle.

Healthy Burger and Chips

Healthy burger and chips? Is that possible. This isn’t even one of my cheat meals. This is just a healthy burger and chips recipe that I wanted to share with you, honestly it's delicious! One of the top reasons people HATE diets is they get BORED they feel like they’re stuck eating the usual salads, meat and veg again and again. It doesn't have to be that way and this recipe is proof of that. I think lots of us crave a nice burger and chips from time to time, but in most cases eating them can put a little bit of timber around the middle. However here is the exception… Ingredients for Burgers (4 servings) * 500g extra lean beef mince (or turkey will work fine too) * 1 onion, chopped finely * 1 chilli – finely chopped (optional) * 1 x egg * Seasoning: Salt and pepper 1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, divide it into 4 portions. Knead each portion so it all sticks together nicely, then flatten into a burger shape. 2. Heat some coconut oil in a frying pan and shallow fry for around 4 minutes each side. Or you can grill them. (a bread roll is optional, leave out if your trying to lose weight) Ingredients for Chips * 2 large sweet potatoes * 1/2 tsp chilli powder (optional) * 1 tsp paprika * 1 tbs coconut oil, melted 1. Slice up the sweet potatoes in chip size pieces. (Use a sharp knife) 2. Toss all ingredients into large bowl and mix. 3. Then place in a large baking tray in oven at around 220 degrees C for 15 mins. 4. Turn and cook for a further 7-10 mins Serve your burger and chips alongside a bit of salad. I should say at this point that my wife does most of the cooking and prep in our house so when I say “I”, I sometimes mean my wife. The sweet potato chips are delicious! Normally I make a couple of QUICK burgers and a large salad and this hits the spot. This recipe will be HEALTHIER even if you have a bread roll BECAUSE it's home made and there are no additives or preservatives. You, like me, are probably living a fast paced busy life I find that putting some extra time into preparing my meals helps LOADS. One method I use is cooking EXTRA! I always cook at least 2 portions of my meal so it cuts down on the effort of cooking next time. I just pack the extra meal in a little container to eat the next day or whack in the freezer. (this works well with meatballs and curries, which are my two fav recipes) The key to maintaining a healthy diet is make things as SIMPLE as possible. (especially in the beginning) So I hope you give the burger and chips recipe a go and let me know what you think. Take care, Richard

HEALTHY COFFEE - How healthy is it?

Healthy Coffee is not a new concept; it is as old as coffee itself, but new brands of coffee offer a Healthy Coffee saying it is healthier than standard coffee. There are a differing views on what Healthy Coffee is, and what makes coffee healthy in the first place, if it is.. What is Coffee? To understand what Healthy Coffee is, we must know what coffee is. Coffee is a brewed beverage from the roasted seeds from the evergreen shrub of the genus Coffea. There are two (2) main coffee types sold in the world, there are many more of course, but these are the two main coffees sold in the Western World. Arabica from the plant Coffea arabica and Robusta from the plant Coffea canephora. Coffee is slightly acidic having a ph. of 5.0 to 5.1. Coffee also contains caffeine which acts as a mild stimulant to the human body. Coffee is the 2nd most consumed beverage in the world, only second to water, and is the 2nd highest traded commodity only beaten by oil. Is Coffee Healthy? It has been stated by The National Institutes of Health – AARP Diet and Health Study (2012) that moderate coffee consumption correlated negatively with the risk of death. In simple terms this means that people who consume a moderate amount of coffee tended to live longer. However coffee is acidic and the human body is designed to be neutral or mildly alkaline, which is a ph. level of 7.0 or slightly higher. Many of the diseases which disrupt the human body cannot live in an alkaline environment. And too much consumption of coffee can push the ph. balance to acidic, thus allowing some diseases to flourish. Unfiltered coffee has been linked to a slight rise in cholesterol levels,

but has been shown in other studies to help prevent such diseases as Parkinson’s disease. Also in the control of type 2 diabetes. Also we should remember that how we have our coffee has an effect on the body, such as sugar and milk or cream. Healthy Coffee. In recent years companies have infused coffee with herbs to enhance the health effects of coffee, the most popular of these enhancements is infused Organic Ganoderma lucidum. Ganoderma lucidum is a mushroom, grown in China for thousands of years, with many medicinal properties. Its history is ancient and features in literature and artwork of Ancient China. It was only ever allowed to be consumed by the Emperor and his Generals, so potent was this herb. It was also called the Mushroom of Eternal life, or the King of Herbs. Ganoderma lucidum or as it is called in Asia, Reishi Mushroom, has been used in the treatment of many diseases. And has an interesting range of benefits to the body, such as oxygenation of the blood stream, more energy, helping to control blood pressure, helping with sleep disorders and many more benefits. It also puts the body in a more alkaline state. So if this Herb is infused into coffee and the many attributes of the herb are not lost, and the aroma and flavour of the coffee are not changed in any way, then the potential of Healthy Coffee to change lives is unlimited. Many people don’t like taking medication or are forgetful about medication, which can be more harmful, so if the health benefits were already in something that most people consume on a daily basis, usually multiple times, then the new Healthy Coffee raises the bar and sets the standard higher than the standard coffee.
